Glitch?

I'm Silver, and happy there. I had about 40 wins. I don't play bonus games or tournaments. I just noticed today that somehow I'm in the Silver playoffs, and I don't know how. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this another not so subtle attempt by Glu to force players to level up?

    I recognised that my participation in the EB events also counts towards the progression. For every ticket used I get a win.
    This must be a bug.

    Happened to me too. Jumped to Gold level Playoffs with around 30 games left. Think it happened during free gift bonanza which included “all-star” points upgrade. Basically accepting gift autoplayed your remaining games and triggered playoffs. You can still play bonus games for points/fun without changing your silver level, simply don’t tap playoff window.
