  • Just a reminder - the final box of ‘19 was released on a Monday (NL Central box featuring Ernie Banks), with the post-season boxes coming out on a Tuesday. Perhaps we’ll see the same thing this year, with Davey being the unicorn in tomorrow’s box?
  • @Thekid84 - the below was posted in another thread earlier this week. To my knowledge no one has disagreed. For someone like me who plays a WOH-centric style, 1st pitch is easily the best skill in the game, so Davey is an absolute must have player. The magic of the 1st pitch skill is that it doesn't do what its name…
  • @86MetsRock - non-VIPs are allotted two keeper bats and one pitcher. VIPs get a 4th keeper which can be ANY player.
  • @JTANDME - no, but I'm obsessively checking the Mystery Box tab at the top of each hour. I've had Davey on the brain all weekend.
  • Does anyone have a screen shot of the Brett/Glasnow box? I know it was issued on 2/7 for 400 gold, but what were the player odds? I recall getting Brett for about 15-20K and hoping that we see a similar box design for Davey.
  • So pumped about Davey! An Oriole with the NL Honors logo...priceless.
  • @mpimen007 - I believe 1st pitch was released as a skill toward the later part of '19 and has functioned the same throughout all of '20 and into the '21 beta. Glu is aware of its popularity, so either the coding was wonky and they've chalked it up as a happy accident, or they are just uninterested in changing it. If people…
  • That Davey Johnson is the unicorn that I've been waiting for all year. I believe he's the only 610 max player with two always-on WOH skills against both lefties and righties - me wants! I think what @Mattattack was referring to was just the fact that if Davey is released on Sunday, then you can only score points with him…
  • If anyone is a WOH masochist like me - for the first time, I squeezed 10 cycles into that window - it's really difficult! You basically have to play flawlessly, auto-play everything and have no hesitation when selecting players (I used a preset chart). For the few times were an auto-play failed, I ponied up the gold for…
  • @mythicaldragon - the magic of the 1st pitch skill is that it doesn't do what its name suggests it "should". When playing either WOH or simming games, the outcomes are determined based upon active skills as of the beginning of the AB - outcomes are NOT re-calculated after each pitch. So in the case of WOH, it is ALWAYS…
  • There is a group of players that have been trying to call attention to how amazing 1st pitch is - but I'm really curious if Glu has fully seen the light. I think they missed a massive opportunity to make Chipper Jones a unicorn, instead he'll sit on my bench behind 595 Brett. There's been a rash of legends with one 1st…
  • Agree on Hrbek - that dude is a monster! 1st pitch is my favorite skill. If they release a double 1st pitch guy, the chase is on.
  • My crystal ball suggests that 610 is the final max rating. All signs point to '20 only having a 7 day shelf life and since they haven't released any amazing 610s yet, I expect to see at least one keeper quality player in each box this week. It feels like most of the big spenders have already started playing '21, so I'm not…
  • I don't pay attention to skills either - just focus on stuff and arm ratings, in that order. Control is the equivalent of speed on a batter, completely irrelevant in TSB '20. Does control play a role in the new pitching mode in TSB '21?
  • Glu's coding gives a significant advantage to platoon matchups (i.e. L vs R). Since about 80% of all ABs are against RHPs, a left-handed or switch hitter is always a huge plus. Hoiles also has the RISP skill which isn't very good. IMO Berra would be the easy choice there.
  • @Piglet1899 - sorry man, that's brutal. You had a 97.5% chance to pull 1+ players, so you were truly unfortunate.
  • @2003cobra - that's interesting. I did 6 cycles in the first window and my cycle rewards status was reset to zero when the second window opened - I got frustrated and didn't play the rest of the day. Hopefully your experience is what Glu intended to happen and I was just a casualty of the experiment.
  • As with all WOH boxes, I would appreciate it if a pity timer were added. 10 of those short cycles should take 1-2 hours (closer to 1 for stacked diamond teams) and you would earn 23 boxes, so maybe a pity timer in the 5-10 range? I got lucky and got Kaat on box 7, so I'm a happy customer today.
  • Glu said that they don't currently have the ability to present a secondary timer for when the one-hour WOH window will close, so all that is presented to us is the timer for when the entire event itself ends. I'd expect maybe 2-3 more one-hour windows at some point today.
  • Looking back at last year - the 600 max players were first issued on Wednesday 2/26 (Davey Johnson) and the last set of boxes were issued on Monday 3/16 (Ernie Banks). Just speculation, but I agree with the OP that if this year plays out like last, that we should get our final bump tomorrow. Thanks to @WackGoneLoco for…
  • It was publicly announced that TSB21 will be released worldwide on Monday March 15th - so we've got to back up from there. My assumption is that on that day TSB20 dies off. I lived in Canada last year - can someone else confirm that this is what happened last year?
  • My hunch is that there is a bump this weekend to 610 and a final bump on the last weekend before TSB21 is released worldwide (3/12-3/14). This would make business sense for Glu so that we all have to spend just a little extra to chase those elite 625 keepers, which may be better than the ATGs (think Cruz and Brett from…
  • Today I played over 1,000 bonus games without fieldpass, which means I tapped my phone over 10,000 times - just sickening. Was it fun? No, but I wanted the club points and gold. This is probably a minority view, but I would prefer that Glu lean into auto-tapping instead of away from it. Nobody wants to tap their phone all…
  • The differences between the tiers are really interesting - Foxx is a lights out closer in diamond (so far 10 for 10 with a 40 gold boost) but probably sucks at other tiers.
  • @Rippers - touche! I updated my comment above to clarify that it applies to diamond only. I can't speak to platinum or silver.
  • Just a reminder for diamond players - its impossible to hit an HR on 5.10 of the mega tower, so guys like Foxx with double ROB are elite options.
  • @baseball2020 - yes, Glu said that at some point in the future you will no longer be required to "collect" any rewards that you have earned, they will just be auto-pushed to your inbox. Timeline is unknown, but my guess would be sometime in the TSB21 lifespan.
  • @tshea510 - IMO this is driven by the limitations of the game design. For batters there's really only one relevant rating - hit. The other two are meaningless - in theory power comes into play in bash and HR battles, but the reality is that with the 615 foot HR cap, higher power guys don't have any value. If they removed…
