Nothing special, nothing even particularly tasty; but I made a simple sammy today for the sole purpose of carrying on the balsamic threads legacy. Sour dough, honey ham, Colby Jack, some lettuce with a little mustard and squeezed some lime on top for good measure. Cheers for 20 🍻🥪

Made a turkey wrap today with melted shredded cheese and picked fresh spinach, parsley, and green onions tops from my backyard raised bed garden. Yummy - tho I have some residual onion breath now.

Fresh from the garden sounds delightful

Now I want a sandwich but all we have in the office are bagels.

Bagels make for a fine sandwich platform, sir.

While not my foundation of choice, it doesn’t mean something good can’t be built on it.

Edit: I would compare it to starting TSB 2020 as the Orioles

Bagels are in my top 5. Solely because pizza bagels exist

My favorite comfort breakfast is just a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese.   And I wouldn’t be upset if there was a little bacon on there

The horseshoe, which is an open-faced sandwich consisting of a slice of toast topped with choice of meat, french fries and cheese sauce that originated in Springfield, Illinois at the Leland hotel in the 1920's. Pictured below is a hamburger horseshoe topped with bacon, green onion and tomato (although buffalo chicken is my favorite).

Oh bagels are fantastic, but I'm trying to hit weight for a weightlifting meet.

My wife found a bagel dough recipe that uses no yeast.  0% fat Greek yogurt and baking powder.  Delicious.  Also makes a good pizza dough.  I will post a pic if I find it a little later.

I think this is it, but not 100%.

My son has a gluten intolerance, so everything we do at Chez Smartass is gluten free.

My 9yo daughter recently learned how to make a GF pizza crust and it is awesome.

Also, cauliflower pizza crusts are good too, IMHO.

My wife makes basically the same. Self rising flour and unflavored Greek yogurt. It’s fandamntastic

CC doesn’t like his cheese in the middle. I say as long as it’s on el sammich. It’s a sammich.

My biggest concern is that I feel like that lonely slice of cheese is getting lost in the 2 inches of sandwich meat on that sammich you posted.

So today I added one more layer of each plus more balsamic and pickles. Hope that curbs your cheese woes.

Looks good!  I’m assuming this requires a knife and fork? Or can you grab it and go?

I ate it at my desk without utensils. It was pretty messy but delicious.
