Watch video for a reroll not doing anything?

Has anyone noticed that if you watch a video for a re-roll, (gold video box, different club box, etc), it doesn't actually do anything? You always just pull the same thing anyhow?
Unless it's some crazy coincidence and it's all on the up and up for everyone else, I've been wasting my time with video re-rolls.
