Boredom has set in earlier than usual

xracmanxracman Registered Users, Member 666 Posts

Pulled Griffey with first FR box, so 5th box overall.  Primes are now totally irrelevant for me because I have a legend/keeper/active PoTM for my entire roster.  It seems like there used to be primes that had higher ratings than keepers, so there was still something to chase. Not anymore unless filling sets for points is your thing.

I'd suggest taking a look and maybe investing a bit in moments. The base ones give you anywhere from 22-30% boost and can transform even a sub 460 prime into a legend equivalent. I haven't played around with them a ton yet, but @DFBB is a moments fiend and has provided a few examples in other threads (Will Smith for one).

Just a fun/relatively inexpensive way to shake things up a bit if you're feeling like your team is stagnant.

He’s correct. Moments did add some pretty serious value to specific teams. But it is very team specific and game mode specific for some of them. For example, that double woh jram will be elite For. Long time in woh and is better than any legend. If you invested lots of gold on moments, the 440 and 460 mookie betts. 440 will smith and even the 450 belli from a few weeks ago are monsters in BG. But again, you have to invest to get the benefits.

He's bored because he doesn't prioritize club points or scoring runs. To each their own. Also, let's not talk about 'it' anymore. lol

I've bought some Moments, but have not been lucky enough to pull the teams that match the players I have rostered.  I keep my roster pretty lean, I had JRam and turned him in because he had a lower rating than the 3Bs and subs on my roster, and I didn't have trouble beating WoH with the roster I had.

My club is very casual, we have 3-4 players who play regularly, so I prioritize club points to the level I need to to make sure we hit the best rank available to us.  Sometimes it's Top 10, sometimes Top 50, usually Top 100. Yeah, big deal, that's really not much at all, but it's what I've got.

So @DFBB, what's the "It" you don't want to talk about anymore?  Should I focus on crappy box odds?  Or how expensive the game is?

BTW, I read this board regularly, you could have tagged me instead of reffering to me in the third person like I wasn't in the room.

I'd love to have KG, but I only have 30K gold left. Took me 180K just to get Bowa and Olerud once.

This is my last year doing this.  This is just exhausting. Pulling Biggio 28 times Monday while dropping 80K gold (again) before I got ONE legend is just brutal. That isn't fun.  Yeah, my club came in first that day and I was a top 5 MVP, but the return on that effort was about .0001% of what I put in.  Not to mention the fact that WoH no longer offers a decent prize or LxP.

There is no skill involved in this at all other than spending gobs of money for gold, then spending gobs of gold on rigged boxes, then spending more money for the resources, then spending more money to actually play the games, then spend more money on all the upgrades that really and truly don't matter because all you are going to do is push "autoplay game" a million times.

With the rigged boxes, high cost, and nerfed events, there is nothing to look forward to any longer unless you are an addict that is willing to spend thousands of dollars a week.

Yes, we are aware of the game having crashing issues in the middle of WoH, but we can't compensate you for the gold you lost at this time. This is done on a case by case basis. - TSB Customer Service

Let's not throw shade at guys who spend their own money how they see fit. I could make an argument that a true addict might be someone who has been bashing the game, developer of the game and "rainbow brigade" for years but continues to play and contribute steadily to the game's forum.

There is some skill involved, example Target Bash. I've been practising it for months now even with my small zones and have been able to almost "master it". Very tricky when you dont have the big zones that the higher VIP have but it is doable. I took it as a personal goal of mine to cap a bash round this year and finally in a spot where I can do that consistently. No amount of autoplay helps you in Bash, only way to score well in it is to play it manually.

The game also involves more strategy and approach in certain game modes, especially now with these new moments they added. If you pick and prioritize certain ones you can greatly increase the rating on your "normal players" and have them become elite. @drsmartassphd the game is what it is, I dont understand why you keep playing it honestly. It obviosuly does nothing but bring you misery lol.

@drsmartassphd, first time in a long time, I agree with most of what you said.  However, I believe there IS a skill involved in the game now, and it involves racking and stacking all the different variables (skils, x factors, moments, pennants, upgrades) to arrive at the highest possible individual player rating for the events you play.

This skill allows you to win games by scores of +300-0, make zero outs through a cycle of WoH, team winning percentages of .980, a lineup of players with OPS higher than 2.5 and a rotation of pitchers with ERAs under 0.20, all towards the goal of working with your team to score trillions of club points for an event.

Moments was probably the thing that pushed me over the edge, just another multiplier to make the outcomes even more extreme than they already are.  I'm obviously in the minority as far as that is concerned, but to each their own, as they say.

Having said all that, I agree with @dkarski87, I have no idea why you still play this game.

I think boredom is the opposite of how I'm feeling. If I had to use a word, overwhelmed might be a good one. This used to be a fairly simple game to play, now there's getting to be too much stuff. It's just too busy for me. It literally takes over an hour to setup my team on some days, and flipping x factors back and forth for CvC, changing moments in and out.

It's just too much. I dread event start now. The game is a chore. It's just a lot of work now. I've hung on for a while here, mainly just out of routine (its just something I've done every day for 3+ years). I'm taking this weekend off from the game entirely. I loathe the 2000x taps of opening boxes, and the subsequent leveling / arrangement of my team / bonus sets. You almost need a spreadsheet to set it up now.

I'm slowly spending more and more time on other hobbies again, and its looking like my time with TSB is near its end (finally).

This is your thread. You'll get a notification anytime anyone makes a comment. In any event, most of the posters here don't enjoy the game or at least, they claim to hate it and some claim they don't even play. If either of those are true, I don't get why they're still here. Anyways, whether I agree or understand doesn't matter.

Generally speaking, the tsb community is allergic games that involve skill and glu has obliged accordingly.

I’ll just add this. I didn’t have jram leveled until Monday. But with the Indians moments, his skills capped at 20, he is higher than almost any player I’ve ever seen in woh with out purchasing any boost. My guess is he will be a closer all season long. Just my 2 cents. A team like the dodgers who have boost for BG and if you bought the special moments over the weekend, any right handed dodger will be incredibly valuable In BG. Other players like arozarena and Cruz from yesterday will be killers in cvc and EB vs lefty pitchers. Moments may be the best thing they’ve added to the game. If you’re willing to spend on them. If you aren’t and you don’t care about maximizing points and runs, then no need

My mistake, I misinterpreted it as a subtle shot at the big spenders. Apologies.

I personally don't hate this game. I dislike Glu that's a big difference. I do play this game because I like the game, I dislike Glu. Personally it's the best baseball mobile game out there even though it's created by a pathetic company in Glu. It's an awesome concept but poorly mismanaged and it became to exploit the addict. Yes, the game has opened up for me considerably because I'm F2P well with the exception of buying the unlocked deals after a global challenge. So, yes I am having more fun now then I did at the beginning of the year of this game. Is the game rigged in favor of Glu, sure, so are casinos. They all profit immensely off of addicts. Legal, yes, unethical most definitely!

I was in a similar spot last year.    Stuff like chasing the next big thing while constantly trying to grind it back while always having to spend on FP just was wearing me down slowly but surely.   Finally I decided to put the game down for a couple of days and then days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and I realized I was in a much better spot.   I can still log in and play the game casually when I want but dont feel like I have to do anything.    I play the Show for my baseball fix and I can get the players I like without relying on poor box odds.  Best of luck

Something that has helped me with moments is it limits who I chase. For example. Once I realized how impactful moments were I stopped chasing Dawson. His moment was a boost to prime events, which as we know is a big old wet fart of an event. Prime mookie helps me way more than Dawson with the boost to BG and He gets a stacked boost thanks to the extra moments so he is significantly better than Dawson for me. Same with Olerud, no Interesr in him. Ramirez, Hernandez and my custom keeper are all better options for woh than he would have been and Pedro Guerrero is my best hitter thanks to his skills and moments.

This is my last year. Finishing it out with the club I am in bc there isn't a mandate to spend and play daily.

After this, I will hopefully sell my team. If not, no big deal.

There are a lot of things still to enjoy about the game.   There's more then one way to play and it really just depends on your perspective on things.    For some it might not even be the game but the people they meet playing it.

The few times MLB 9Innings was mentioned, it wasn't favorably... but I enjoy it far far more than what TSB has become. Check out the reddit page for tips & give it a chance. If you enjoy team building, it's a FAR superior game that you can enjoy actually playing, not just blowing through 3000 games a day & it doesnt restart each year, you can play long term with no loss of players or resources...

@JCAM80: Just downloaded and played it.

    Better graphics

    More skill involved

    Cost much much less

Balls out of the strike zone called balls

    The list goes on.

Yep, I'm done after 21. Bye, GLU!

Funny part is I have this game, have had it for about 4 months. I can’t figure out what the hell you’re supposed to do. I get random packs sometimes but pull nothing that appears good. I don’t understand club play.

I tried substituting 9 innings for TSB a year or so ago. Better game, yes. Community,  almost non existant. if you play long enough, youll see the resemblance. At the end of the day, its a mobile game, and not a console game. There is a massive difference. mobile games are specifically geared towards addictive personalities. Doc, you will be back. If you weren't,  youd give your team away immediately

Honestly I’m not sure the good @drsmartassphd is addicted to the game as much as he is to deciphering the cheat out codes.  He probably would of quit long ago if he didn’t have them to rant about.
I'm confused by what you mean by 5.7 and 5.8.  You mean the round and level?
