VIP Membership

I asked a month or so ago about VIP Membership. I was politely told I’d be considered. Then one of the moderators told me to “play more”.
I spend hours playing, spend lots of cash, try to be helpful, and participate without negativity.
I ran into someone whose team was at 80,000 who was a VIP. I figured it must be a regulars second team.
Nope. This guy was new. He said he asked and was made a VIP the same day.
I’m a bit disheartened. Are there different protocols for different people? Any help or guidance would be very appreciated.

Sorry bud but you forgot life lesson #1, don’t believe everything you hear, dude lied to ya.  If you want to be VIP then it’s all about the Cheddar!  Used to cost about $820 but now I hear it may be upwards of a grand.  Ya got to pay to wear the badge of shame.
I'm confused by what you mean by 5.7 and 5.8.  You mean the round and level?

    Let's examine Membership vs Cult.
    mem·ber·ship
    /ˈmembərˌSHit/

    noun
    1. the fact of being a member of a group.
"I was selected for membership in the National Honor Society"
      Similar:belonging associateship community
      integration clanship
      • the number or body of members in a group.
"our membership has grown by 600,000 in the past 18 months"

        NOW SEE
      • Cult -noun-

a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
        "the cult of St. Tap"
        • a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister.
          "a network of Satan-worshiping cults"Similar:sect religious group
denomination religious order church faith faith community
belief persuasion affiliation movement group body
          faction clique
        • a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
"a cult of personality surrounding the leaders"

Clearly Cult is what we're dealing with here.
do you want your mom knowing that?

    Someone 3 weeks old with a team of 80,000 certainly isn't a lvl 10...

Team Strength has no bearing. Money spent, that’s it.

Your point is valid however VIP does carry over year to year.  That individual probably doesn’t play much or just started this year.  I know several VIPs with very low team strength for that reason.

Lots of bad info get passed around and some trolling gets mixed in as well. The most  obvious path to VIP is money spent, but being a helpful member of the community will also help. People that tell you otherwise are simply uninformed.
If you're not having fun, you're losing.
