Special Gear for superstars

I started a couple of weeks ago playing this and I really enjoy it. I’d like to know what the deal is with the stuff like Shawn Michaels Gloves and the rest of those things. Does these things have a reason to them because I haven’t seen anything yet.  Thanks in advance.

Prime superstars (which, as of now, are only available once on weekends) and certain gold superstars use the special gear. If you don't have those superstars, you have no need for that gear.
