Level up 21-22

I won intercontinental title with Cedric Alexander at a lower level and have already had to level him higher than I wanted to defend it to progress up to another level. I don’t want to level him up any more (want to concentrate on silver superstars) but can’t progress otherwise.

 Is there a way to forfeit a title so I can challenge with a higher ranked wrestler?
He’s currently at 527 and I am facing a 662 Balor
