Help locating a quest! (Involving gifts)

So there was a quest in the end levels (either 7 or 8), where I had to retrieve a gift for a survivor's friend. When I get to him, turns out he's bitten and I'm given the choice to either kill him or let him live.. Does anyone know which chapter I can find this quest in?

    Pretty sure that was 8. I tried it both ways, killing him and letting him live, and neither way lets you get the gift :(
