Pink gem bug

I had around 2,000-2,500 Pink Gems. I returned to a safe house and was rewarded by a friend more than I expected. I now have 4,294,984,464. I now can't receive any awards which was all part of the fun for me. Can this be fixed? It's killed the game for me! :-(

I had the same issue. Had my own number of pink gems and suddenly had counts in the millions. Just a few minutes before the end of the event I was ranked in the 300's, and at the end I didn't show a rank and received no prize.
Lame! What gives?
