Trick or Treat Event Issues

I started playing the event late last night and got somewhere between 15 and 20 candy apples. Today I started playing and all my candy apples had vanished. They weren't used for any of the missions, they were just gone. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, I am not finding any of my friends in the safe houses (although I cannot decide if this is a good or bad thing considering the nightmare that was Nightmare).

    I did see where there is a limit to how many a friend can share with you. I think it may have said 100. I thought this may be to atleast limit the effect a hacker will have on the game.

    I didn't get the game update until this evening, even though I had friend messages to join a team yesterday.
