Latest Special Event

I was in the latest special event last night. I was doing well. I had just shot down the boss helicopter when a minute or two later, I got hit on the back of the head from behind with the butt of a gun like they do when you are discovered on a stealth contract. I must have missed something. What did I do wrong?
