Stuck at "Upgrade Your Weapon" Screen

I had to reinstall the game on my phone and now i'm stuck at the "Upgrade Your Weapon" screen after the first mission. It is telling me "Upgrade your weapon with this gift of 60 free gold" But my gold only shows as being at 12...Anyone encounter this problem or know a way to workaround this?
