I believe you get them as part of the 'bronze' league mini tournaments following the main weekend tournament. I'm sure someone else will confirm as I have only been in the 'silver' leagues so far!

I am gutted, after the latest update my level jumped straight from level 50 to level 58 and I didn't get any gold for the privilege - this feels like a massive con!! Surely Glu should be giving us the gold we have legitimately earned by working up our xp and moving through the levels?

RESULT!!! Email received from Fyber today confirming that my gold will be in my account today - should be there after loading up the game. Best advice I can give to anyone else is ensure you have screenshots and any evidence you can give to Fyber to support your claim.
