I think my game is somehow stuck in the past (2017?) despite being updated to the latest version.

I have no access to any events like the special spin wheels, outfits, playing against other people, etc. I don't even know the names for these things and I only know they exist because I keep winning spins on this mysterious wheel from challenges, and it just doesn't exist. I'm not talking about daily challenges. I've noticed other people's iOS games look extremely different from mine. I've had this save file for over five years, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Here's some photos of what my game looks like, for context.

I've been searching around to see if anyone had a similar problem and found only one thread with no solid answers. In other people's gameplay screenshots there's two icons on the bottom left unlike my single little blue present that offers deals. I don't know what I'm missing out on or why this is happening but any suggestions are appreciated.
