I paid the 59 gold just because it might be required in a future event. I am just not going to upgrade it until it is needed.
Finished and now upgrading the AR. I did buy that 59 gold AR also. This event only made me 131 platinum eagles. I spent around 500 gold to buy weapons and do the event. I'd skip the event if I had known this ahead of time. Oh well, easy come easy go.
Would I be safe in assuming that the pistol will get offered for credits in the coming weeks, but the assault rifles will stay as gold only. I am basing this from the 'regular' vs 'elite' in the name of the events/weapon.
Yes, the R13 AR is the Plisskin Scale that is won after completing the R6 event. After you complete the 2nd hunt in that series, you are offered the weapon needed to complete it for 191 gold.
It was worth it for me. You can even put an IR scope and 38-round magazine on the Rohman Grandmaster (the required weapon) using just Platinum Eagles! However, if you are trying to save them, only upgrade as needed throughout the series only when it asks you to.
I bought the gold Rohman Prime AR, but the game did not recognize it as a Tour Elite weapon so it was unusable. No big deal, the price was only 59 gold but that is about 2 months of video for me.
I bought it too but only to have it. To cheap not to have for a later event maybe? I had enough gold saved I just couldn't pass it up. But I didn't even try and use it, and did no upgrades either.
Maybe that's where the 3rd assault rifle from the memorial event will come into play. The "freedom" I think it was called? And the 3rd shotgun from the independence event. Why 3? Glu may have something planned for them, or it's a waste, like the pachyderm shotgun, and sterling cloak bow. There must be a need for them, I hope!!
I took the one time offer for the Rohman Prime and found it wasn't recognised for the next hunt I played. But after that it was fine, and didn't take much upgrading to get up to the level of my already partly upgraded Grandmaster.
But now I've finished that event I reckon they will both be pretty useless...

I declined it because I had already invested in the Grandmaster.
I'll wait till the pistol goes on sale for cash before I buy it (conserving gold).

I would if I had a couple thousand gold, but I prefer the Level 1 sight on it; perfect amount of zoom for me!
