Haven't you read the posts about getting the mystery items? It takes hours per day and days per week! You have to be very, very, very, very patient.

yes, it is hard, but what I did was first use up the first 80 gems, then I got an inferior item, then I chose to roll another one for 40 gems, I got a mystery Item...

You can try that kind of way, and also re-starting your phone, relogging in the game...
