I come seeking knowledge on the enemy def mechanics in the game. It seems to me that based on the boss's def, a static amount will be deducted from your attack, and all damage (specials, crits, etc) is based on that new number.
Ex: we have 1000 atk, boss's def is high and subtracts 900 from that, so we do 100 damage per hit, and ~200 per crit. But if we have just a bit more, 1100 atk, then on that same boss we would hit for 200 and therefore crit ~400.
If this is the case, then it would be much much better to get a weapon that only has IIF but higher atk than a weapon with lower atk but with CD/CC, even though the latter weapon would potentially have a significantly higher GS.
Anyone care to weigh in and share their experience?
