Extra time boost?

Does anyone know how much time does Extra time boost add and if there is any indication during the game when the extra time starts? I've just got to that fame level and used the boost couple of times but did not really feel any difference. One time the episode even ended with 4 sec still on the timer and customers available. Just wondering if it's one of the late bugs or not. Thank you!

    He adds 7 seconds each time he visits

    the extra time starts as soon as he sits down

    Ok, thank you! That explains it, I guess I just didn't notice, 7 seconds doesn't make much difference when the customers want complex dishes. :(
