Keepers strength will increase as the year goes on. Just costs a little more xp and cash to level them up. But if you picked a weak overall keeper from the year before he won't increase as fast. It's good to pick someone with a high overall rating from the previous year.

You need to start off fresh each year. So you will need to work from bronze all the way up again each new year. You can keep 2 batters and a pitcher from the pervious year. I would recommend an all time great if you have one. Good luck in the new year.
