The good thing about shooter is when you take the 2x damage boost and being low on health at once you get an extremely high damage for 10 seconds = 4x of your basic damage, i like when it happens, tho have to be careful with it
Yes, the Shooter becomes exceptionally lethal when very low on armor. It makes for a good hit and run vehicle if you like that strategy.
Heres another tip which i found out the hard way
if its team death match and score is 4:4
If your on low health hide or keep away. I lost because teammate died. I just needed partner to survive one more second and could of won the match. Oh well good call to destroy the weak partner. Have to say my ghost did put up a great fight and guess my partner was pretty good sometimes. Picking up double damage and using air strike when they got close

Some players will make fun of this strategy of hiding and putting your tail between your legs, but I agree with you! You gotta do what you gotta do to win, and hiding is completely fair and resourceful in my opinion.
my 1vs2 vehicle where it will never fail me is my shooter ,has never failed me unless against super unfair matches.my mantis is a very good hit n run vehicle,my mantis is actualluy quite impressive since it boast 3000 armor, but at this time where my components is switched i have only 2300 armor, but it is faster than any other car in the game,my dozer is faster than a regular shooter ,and you already know why im faster.

So, with that knowledge, it behooves you to stay in your opponents' screen once you use your invisibility (unless, of course, you have to urgently attend to matters elsewhere). Then, when you are about to turn visible again (you can see the timer in the upper left-hand portion of the screen), if your goal is to get away from your opponent, make your way in the opposite direction that your opponent is traveling so that when you turn back to being visible you will have momentum and your opponent will have to turn around to pursue.
If, however, you don't want to evade your opponent, then make sure that right before you turn visible you are in a position to burn, baby burn. Make sure you do it with one second because if you turn visible before you shoot the fire, your opponent could take evasive maneuvers and evade you, thereby avoiding your flames and all the while shooting at you too.
Some tips on fighting with and against Thermodons (cut & pasted from Thermodon thread):
Another cool trick is if you ever find another vehicle has landed on your Thermodon's "back," DO NOT FIRE (or else that piggyback ride will be over) and make your way over to a cliff. Then, right before going off the cliff, make a sharp turn and the car on your Thermodon will be flung off the cliff into the abyss. Two great places to accomplish this are the Rocket Base (off the large ramp that leads to the flag or charge base) and the Iceberg (on the right side of the board where the mini-cliff off the flag is --- cars will grab the flag and then "jump" off that min-cliff --- be there to escort that car to their death).
But, to be sure, the most lethal weapon is the plasma charges. When to use it is a good question. I tend to think that most players fire it unnecessarily soon after spawning. On the one hand, it may be better to save the activie ability for a time when you are absolutely sure your target will be killed. On the other hand, firing it soon after spawning will start the timer right away as to when you can use that ability again - but you may never make it to the second firing.
One note to always remember - while your active ability is firing, you can continue to use your regular weapons (to the extent you have enough energy to do so). I have seen too many Thermodons refrain from firing their regular weapons while they are releasing the plasma bolts. It's as if they are so in awe of the plasma strikes that they are physically unable to fire their regular weapon. I agree, it's an awesome sight, but for goodness sakes, man. Use your missiles and bury your opponent with damage!
One note about fighting Thermodons - make a mental note of when the Thermodon has used its active ability. If it hasn't yet, then don't let it approach you and don't try to go face to face with it. Also, try to attack it from it's soft underbelly - you will be more difficult to hit when you are hiding under there.

A strategy I use often, and GrimFuture explained it. It's better seen in action, but you can tail whip when you are driving around and trying to corner a car or make it lose control. You make a sharp turn and have the back end of your car (Pummeler works best) hit your opponent. Take advantage of the free seconds of time they spend trying to pick themselves up and fire at you, and kill them.

Yes, Rudy! Absolutely. I tried to explain that in my Mantis Loadout post, but didn't use the term "tail whipping," which actually perfectly describes it. I love love love that move and is sooooo effective at delaying/blocking someone trying to get your flag/charge.

How does one "depend solely" on consumables to kill someone else? Isn't the car and maneuvering kind of part of that equation and therefore, it becomes impossible to depend solely on consumables to kill someone else?

Nice Manta! The piggy backing method on the Thermodon and then dumping your opponent into the abyss is well, ummm, wicked, but awesome for those skilled at doing this.

Nice. I forgot about this technique but I use it often. I also try to "hook" my opponent onto the back of my vehicle using this technique and then drive around with them "chained" behind me for a few seconds. They lose control temporarily at which point I try to toss them off a cliff or throw them into a corner and bombard them.

One tip that has probably been mentioned on here but is a pretty basic concept is to get the health power ups not so much because you may need them, but more to deprive your opponent from getting them. If I have almost full health and there is a power up nearby, I will go for it not because I need it but because my opponent may need it more. Same thing with the double damage power ups.
This is an especially useful tactic on the Capture the Flag maps. While you're on your way to get the other team's flag, you might as well travel past where the power ups are on each board so that your opponent cannot take advantage of them.
Glad to see I am not the only one that considers this all too important strategy especially evident and important when playing 1v2. This strategy will allow you to constantly attack your tormentors while not allowing them any relief.
Picking up up power ups on the way to get flag makes real sense to me, I don't want to have someone with a 2up in my face as I'm leaving their base. I will also count down from the time a power up is taken to know when it is more likely my attack will be effective.
