Paying Rent

I have three apartments after the task of buying one from Miami and moving from the starting place. Should I not pay the rent for the first apartment since I already have two other ones. What will happen if I don't?

If you haven't got the goal to buy the store So Chic in Downtown LA yet, you will have to pay the rent in order to buy the store
