How do I change my husbands clothes?

I was able to buy my husband new clothes once only because I stumbled upon it by accident. I have tried several different things & am still unable to get his avatar to change clothes again. Can someone please tell me in detail how to do it? Thank you!!

Is he a Game Center friend? If he's an Npc then go to contacts. Search him up and press gift. Then but whatever you want for him to wear. You can't change his hairstyle nor appearance, just his clothes.
