Mario and Jen - do I need to spend my stars?

After saving the adoption agency, I was given the quest line to meet up with mario and Jen again!
I go to meet mario at Brew Palms, and he wants 10 kstars.
I'm assuming after this I'll have to give Jen stars too?

I know this is the quest where they give you the curly hair style. Will I still get it if I don't pay the stars to charm them? Anyone got some tips about this quest line?

Oh I've done that storyline gig before. I remembered that I didn't pay 10 kstars and I still got the curly hair style afterwards.

I think you're safe not spending the stars, I don't think I did. Good luck and be sure and post pics of your new do.

I paid mario the 10 stars, and as a reward I got 37 free points (blue stars) towards that job.

I did not pay Jen, and I got the hair but no free points (blue stars)

Now I'm off to face off against The Pape.
