game not saving

okay, so i got upto the part where i had to wait to attend my birthday party and i exit the game for a bit. when returning, it didnt save my progress and i ended up going back to a task simon gave me and back a level. its happened twice now and i'm worried to close the game.
(when i say close the game, i close the app and then swipe it from playing in the background on iphone)
i didn't have trouble when i started playing yesterday plus i stupidly spent money for stars :-(
any ideas?

    Please report this to glu via their support page. This is a glitch that has been in the stardom games before. When you do make sure to state your game, device you play on and the issue in clear detail :)

    i emailed them not long after posting this thread but thank you! its working now after deleting it and luckily my progress was saved. hopefully it doesn't happen again :)
