But I firmly believe to sit out this event since these prizes includingthe 50k-stars red top aren't really worth it. Nuh-uh.
Anyhow, I'll just observe how this new featureworks and I'll just join the next Who Wore It Best? event. Oh and I feel that this new event's gonna be a tough competition. Haha.☻
I want to clarify how the gated item works. Like Angeline & Jon said, the item required to style is free for the event time. Basically, you'll get access to the item so you can style an outfit around it, but after the competition is over, you won't automatically see it in your closet.
There is not a wait time during the competition. Once you enter and participate, you'll find out the results almost instantly.
This sounds really sketchy to me. Can we please go back to our regular weekend events next week?
I don't think Glu realizes how precious K-Stars are to some of us. I NEVER get videos to watch for free K-stars and the free offers are horrendous. Quizzes are impossible to win, and if you do, you still have to contact your ad vendor and beg for them via the online form, then reply to an email (for only a handful of stars mind you) and I refuse to give my personal information for some so-called survey. Additionally, I subscribed to Hulu through KKH two months ago and was supposed to receive 60 K-stars.. of course those never came. I've tried over and over again to get a response from "Tapjoy." There's no joy in that, I promise you.
So yeah, giving Glu 5 K-stars for a CHANCE to win a prize does not appeal to me at all.
I appreciate the effort in coming up with new things and types of events, but yes...cant say Im too excited. My biggest complaint is the fact that we'll be competing against other players. Why cant everybody have a shot at earning all the clothes? This competition aspect has proven quite challenging in KKG, not sure why glu is trying the same formula here. And lastly, these trial runs should be midweek events just in case they dont work...
I saw where the winner gets 10 k-stars, the runner-up gets 5.. so the other four players have been forced to spend 5 K-stars on a prize they may have no interest in to begin with.. I don't like the idea. We'll see how it goes.

Please don't take it upon yourselves to correct another member. Pm moderation and we'll look into it. In this case I didn't see where anyone was rude. The girls' item shown is 50 kstars, so yah it's pay to play I'm assuming.
The prizes look like trash. The tiers seem like a more annoying form of SYS.

Y'know Glu, you really seem to miss the point on people's critiques. We didn't want PAY TO PLAY, so you asked us to pay more for a different structure?
Your gym was a giant failure. You keep throwing us businesses that don't pay out for 9 months. This event looks super gross and egregious. Why are you missing the point so much?
I'm not keen on these entry fees at all. I'm not paying even 2 k-stars to enter if there's a 6 in 8 chance I'll lose it all. I'm not swimming in k-stars. In fact I barely have any since the video ads stopped appearing. And my spending has gone down accordingly. There's no way I'm wasting them on an event that I have such a great chance of losing.
This is also the first type of event where you can lose no matter how hard you work. In all other events you could get all the earnables the hard way if you got unlucky, even in SYS you could still win even if you lost almost all the battles, if you participated in enough of them. But it looks like in this one you just lose out if you lose. And that's just not fun.

I like the idea that the styling item is "free" for the day/weekend - this prevents people from spending their money on items that they don't really like (which I've had to do in the past). Unsure about paying to enter - mainly because I don't know how many times you'll have to pay to enter in each tier.... This could get out of hand and become not worth it, which won't be fun.
I do have a couple questions:
(1) Are the prizes going to be different each weekend this event is offered? As in, you 'reset' to the beginning each weekend with different prizes? Or will we pick up where we left off the last weekend it was offered? (I.e. is it possible to win all the items in a weekend?)
(2) How do people have time to vote if the results are instantaneous? This suggests to me that it's random... and I really don't like that as I usually put a lot of hard work into my styling.
Hoping this is all answered in the event tomorrow. I'll make sure to post my thoughts once I begin.

Yeahhhhh. My guess is another algorithm that determines how "lucky" you are (win versus lose). So it's like picking gift boxes. The percentage of winning is already built in. That doesn't sound quite fair, really, especially if there is an entry fee each time, but I guess it's not too much different than paying 40 kstars for a gift box.
I'm excited to try out the new event tomorrow before I really pass any judgement. I'm very glad to see that Glu has made the item to style free for the duration of the event.
it's going to be freezing in the morning and I'm not going anywhere, so I may have to stay up til the event starts just in case I have so many questions or need a shoulder to cry on (esp considering my luck in SYS events)

Hydrate for the silent alarm. Open minds are good. I am not sure what time I have to get up in order to be awake enough to understand what is happening. But a weekend without giftboxes? I might have to faint.
