MVP to legend in less than two weeks?

I've been playing this guy who started at the same level, just noticed he's now at legend. Is that possible??

But on the matchup screen I have much highr upgrades and slightly better players. It's odd, almost like a glitch.

If he played a lot of other players or bonus games he could move up very quickly

IF he played lots of games and spent lots of gold upgrading his team it's not impossible for him to quickly advance.
