star player

Anyone else notice that the player listed as their star player is not their best player? I have Adam Lind (4.5 star) listed as my star player, but I have several 5 star players (Peralta, Cano, and Pearce). Is there a reason for this?

i actually think i just figured this out. your star player is determined by whoever is batting 3rd in your lineup on that particular game. the players star rank has nothing to do with it. i have 5* Carlos Gomez as my best player, but i have the batting order set to VsLeftAndVsRight so against righty pitchers, he usually leads off while 4.5* Colby Rasmus (a leftie) hits in the 3 hole making him my star player for that game. against lefties though, Gomez is put in the 3 hole making him my star player for that game. i just checked some games that i had started before i got Gomez and this theory seems to be correct- Rendon was hitting in the 3 hole for 2 games (against lefties) and is listed as my star player for those games.
