Trading Players For Draft Picks

I was curious what people do about inactives for draft picks. Some people say its better to not use the trade function and just try and decrease the pool of players. While in the original version with unlimited inactives this a lot of sense, eventually all that was available would be 5* players. With a max of 30 inactive players does limiting the draft pool really make that big of a difference? Not most #1 draft picks help either but at least they could potentially help.
