League Question

I tried a World Class League trying to get Kyle Seager (3B). Who will probably be a slight upgrade for me. Most of the people had legend 3b, I am trying to see what they get out of it. I understand doing it for club points during the events, but why do people do it during now event? I mean what do they have to gain?

More than likely absolutely nothing except the rare occasion where they might be in line for a 4.5 star player that they need. Other than that it's just a **** move. I've only entered that one for league points and that was a ways back
