Freezing/Lagging?

Does this happen to everyone? Right after the pitch is thrown, there is like a half a second lag and when the screen freezes up for that split second, it makes it damn near impossible to time the pitch right or to see where it's going to decide to swing or not. By the time it unfreezes, the ball is already by you. Anyone else experience this?

Happened to me for a few minutes yesterday, was having horrible lag and rendering issues - big black polygons all over the place.  Seemed to be right as they were pushing the bonus packs for last year's players.  I restarted, rejoiced at the surprise bonus pack, and didn't see any more lag issues.
