I don't understand Walk-Off Hero ?

I don't understand why it's so difficult, even in Tap 17 I never win every level. I lose against much lower hitters at level 2 ... what will it be at level 5 ??? It does not make sense ! My players are up to the maximum, what do you want me to do more ?? I'm so frustrated by this event !

They want you to spend gold to boost your hitters and buy buy buy more gold. Set up to lose your gold and they can’t tell me any different

I made it to 5 once but the other guy who commented is right.  You want to advance keep pulling that credit card out and spend more than the reward for making it that far. I did it once just to see how it progressed. I'll be damned if I'm gonna pump money into that event each money though.  Getting to 3 without spending is easy enough, then call it quits..
