Sorting players based on stats not rating

just curious how others base their in game roster decisions... perfect example would be zack godley/clayton kershaw in game for me. My 108 godley has a 2.28 era in over 3k innings. Whereas my 129 kershaw has a 4.28 in the same time frame. What gives.. i actually notice this alot in positional players as well. These days i usually sit kershaw over godley but i feel stupid inside being a “real” baseball fan. Numbers dont lie though.

It's definately good to keep an eye out for player performance, but keep in mind the types of games they play in. Prime event games are 'easier' than bonus games or season mode. So if kershaw pitches more season games it'll inflate his era. Still, it's a great observation as some worse players will just flat out outplay better ones.
