Completing Pennants

I heard someone say that completing pennants even for teams you don't have starting players helps you against those teams. Is that true?
If I complete the pennants for the Astros and have no players for that team but am versus an Astros Pitcher, does this give me an edge?

I would say they are putting you on. The pennants do state they strengthen your players and there is no reason they should weaken the opposition.

Agree I think it’s a one way street, and that’s to strengthen your team.
