Why such expensive gold for an EOL app?

I don't understand why GLU is still charging $70-$100 for 10K gold in the 17 version. With the few players remaining here they would cover the cost of their servers a lot better if they offer heavy discounts on that gold just for those that want to still play/upgrade for nostalgic reasons.
