Season Mode & prime Events

How is the difficulty level for season mode assigned?
Is it by the tier you are in ie bronze, silver, gold, ect?
Is it by the number of games played?
Is it by your team ratings when you start a season?

How are you put into brackets for Prime Events?  Is it any of the above criteria?

1)Season mode is based on on tiers like bronze, silver, etc.
2)Brackets for prime events include a few factors such as activity and club finish.

Thanks for the info.  I was worried if I played too many prime event games but didn't level up, I would face leveled up teams in the events and in season mode.  I need season mode to help me get the pxp and lxp.  So spending extra time and games in a tier only effects bonus games opponents?

It also effects prime games as well. However, it usually doesn't 'kick in' until you win a few games.
