Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

There have been a couple of big issues that have hit Racing Rivals in the past few weeks. We have been working to address them as best we could. So I’d like to give an update as to what happened and why we did what we did.
  1. Excess Money – There was a group of players that used a combination of cheats, bots and apparently cheap labor to farm money. This caused an influx of cash being inserted into the Rivals Economy. This cash was made through a cheat. We have since closed that specific cheat and have banned account associated with the activity. We continue to monitor the situation and bans will continue for accounts we find using exploits and cheats.
  2. Car Cloning – There were also players using a glitch to exploit the game by duplicating cars. We have also plugged that hole so the method by which it was happening can no longer be used. We are still working on what to do with these cloners
    .
  3. Point Swapping – We have monitored this situation for a few weeks now to see how this would affect things. We have found that the amount of event points being earned through opponent’s chickening out, grew significantly. This is not what this game or the events were made for. The game is for racing. These exploiters were simply earning points by essentially doing nothing, without consequence. We talked about several options. Ranging from doing nothing, to making it so excessive chicken outs would cause the team to lose points. We weighed all the options and the one with the least amount of harm would be to simply make it so when an opponent chicken’s out you don’t gain points. So now, to earn points, you have to race.
