Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

The Funny Thing About Crates Is...

Has anyone else looked at the crates today? Yes, the new cars are there for the next turf in Sydney. But, uh, perhaps the dev's were still high or hung over this morning when they updated the crates. Here's why...

Bronze: the turf car is the 370Z. I have been winning crappy 370Z's from the crates now for months! This is not a new car for the crates and those of us who've bought many crates, have won this wrapped car 10x over. Now it's a car you might win once out of 10 crates? Hilarious. I guess I'll transfer over 5 or 6 Z's from my holding account and put them to good use. If it's still one of the secondary cars you can win also, then maybe you'll have better luck this time buying the crates for the turf car. Also, the matte paint isn't showing "matte" anymore. It's showing "DB_CARPART_PARTDESCRIPTION_0202".

Silver: the turf car is the SRT8. Now just wait a minute. They'll put the S class Hellcat in the bronze crate but the crappy SRT8 A class car in the silver crate? I've always said stay away from silver crates, they just aren't worth it and now I'll say it again, "Stay away!".

Gold: this is really why I think the dev's were high. The turf car AND the "exclusive car wrap" car are both the Ford GT. That's right, both the same car. I guess we all FINALLY have a good chance now of winning the turf car in the gold crate.

Once again, the crates have done nothing to bring me back to them this week. I usually enjoy all the boosts won when buying crates and use them up during turfs, but collected plenty gems this weekend from the special offers, so again, no need to go crate shopping.

The last time I bought a mystery crate which was a bronze crate I got a ton of new wheels which some of them I sold because I couldn't find a car that would look good with one of them. Was actually expecting to complete my Pandora One since I have 5 blueprints for it but nope, just got a bunch of stuff I didn't gave a crap about, including a dodge dart, another mustang, and another Datsun. I sold the Dodge Dart which I kinda felt guilty for selling it but oh well.

Are you complaining that you keep getting the same thing over and over again with the bronze crates? Because that sounds like a huge problem for someone that bought 9 bronze crates for 720 gems.

Me complain? Never! LOL. I'm not complaining, but I am trying to point out that after some point, you've purchased enough crates, that there is nothing new to win. This is because there isn't enough variety offered in them. I have over 10 silvia's, 370Z's, Mustang GT's, countless Datsun 510's, spare Hellcats and Ford GT's just sitting in a secondary account because I have no use for them. Glu loves big spenders but the crates don't appeal to us any longer because of the lack of variety. There are enough cars now that Glu could more frequently update the cars offered than they do currently.
