Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.
However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.
On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.
In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.
@Foxx @Ryyst for speaking with the community and clearing things up. And let's get real guys, all the people that said they would quit the last few updates are still here so, yeah.

This is the biggest shift any update has brought to the game and people are fed up. Glu has made changes to their product that people aren't happy with. They shifted the lobbies and killed every tune in the game to better help them on their end. What about the consumer? Why screw over the consumer to benefit the company? Poor business model if you ask me.
Many players quit after that cause they didn't want to invest the time or money to retune every car in their garage to fit into what helps Glu on their end. With this update many others will leave as well. I have posted my acct for sale and if you read the for sale pages many others have done the same.
This game use to stand alone in the racing app genre, now it's just one in the same. Looks like a cheap knock off of so many other racing games out there. After the last kick in the teeth from Glu, many aren't gonna stick around and let it happen again.
RR is the largest money maker for Glu and to completely change your game into a cheap version of CSR is and was a bad idea. If the community says "to hell with this" their other games won't sustain Glu as they stand now.
Before this update they had successfully rid the game of all the apk hacks, smoothed out the bugs and had a very nice, functioning, game. With this update it's clear that the people at Glu care more about design and less about function. Simple things that the community has been asking for for years, still haven't been implemented. 1 such request that has been asked for since the 2.0 update was to not have to load a players garage in order to pm them. Update 3, 4, 5 and now 6, not to mention all the minor updates in between, and they still haven't changed this.
It is clear that they haven't paid attention to those who play their game. If they had, things wouldn't have changed so dramatically. Here are the major changes with 6.0. Graphics overhaul and global chat. That's it! Where are the larger lobbies during showdown and turf? How bout the test track since all tunes were jacked up and no real way to test tunes now? Ability to remove nos, turbo or sc. a way to sort through cars or friends alphabetically. The list goes on and on and yet all we get is a global chat that no one really wants and a graphics upgrade (I say upgrade in the loosest definition of the word)
Are we to sit back, be patient and wait for Glu to eventually get around to these things or are they things that should have been implemented into the update well in advance of the release? Yes Glu may be working overtime to run damage control but the fact is, the update is an unfinished mess at the moment and should not have been released until some of these things were fixed and running smoothly
