Over the course of the last five years, Racing Rivals has grown into one of the most hardcore racing games in the world. This loyal community has spent countless hours competing in millions of races in “winner take all” fashion – all in the name of Turf Wars and pink slips.

However, all good things must come to an end… After spending time evaluating Rivals and its future – we’ve decided that it’s time to move on. Simply put, the revenue generated from Racing Rivals unfortunately no longer covers the cost of operations. This was not an easy decision to make.

On March 31st, 2019 – Rivals will be racing off into the sunset, and will be permanently shut down. Current players have until this date to utilize any accumulated virtual currency. We’ll be offering some massive reductions in the cost of crates, installs and repairs in addition to a reduction on timers as you race your way into the history books. Effective immediately, no new in-app purchases will be permitted.

In closing, a resounding and sincere THANK YOU to our extremely driven fans for your loyalty and dedication over the years – we hope you’ve enjoyed playing Racing Rivals as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Explanation of how the Game Works (UPDATED 6/20)

So here is something to understand about how this game works.

When you race someone, you technically aren't seeing what your opponent is doing. You are basically seeing a race between you and what the game thinks your opponent can do.
Your opponent is doing the same thing, racing against what the game thinks you can do.

In the end, you both race and send your results to us. We then compare and determine the winner.

This means that it is possible to see your car cross the finish line first, however, that may not be accurate depending on your opponent's actual race time.

In this scenario, your device did not send its results in time. Your opponent crossed the finish line, had an actual ET and the system waited for your device's results. We didn't get it, so the system declared your opponent as the winner. A little over a minute later, we received your results, unfortunately it was too late.

Additionally, we've seen players email us and send us their Reaction Time, 60' Time and Trap Speed which show them being better than their opponents, and asking why they lost.

Reaction Time, 60' Time and Trap Speed are not indicators of who wins a race, they are only part of the race. Having those three stats higher than your opponent does not automatically equal a win.

Reaction time is just how fast you started, 60' time is how long it took you to go 60 feet and trap speed is just the average speed for the last 66 feet of the race. There is still everything that happens during the race that can determine who wins. Shifting, NOS use, Boosts are also part of a race which can affect speed times. Ultimately, its the total time which incorporates ALL of the race that determines the winner, not just what happens at the beginning and the end of a race.
