Well I got sick of being stuck so I used gems to buy the regents to get my weapon to 15/15. I can beat NH but still can't quite beat LC. I can reliably beat ancient cavern though. I haven't seen a need for lightning resist. There just aren't many enemies that use it. None of the dragons do. With my resists the only attacks I need to worry about are the hard black dragons poison and the elite darkness warrior in boss rush 4 hard. No problem. I still don't have the mystery axe or gold headpiece, but I only want those to complete my collection. I probably wouldn't use them. And yes the armors are absolutely worth it. They are the best in the game and actually not too expensive to upgrade.

Just like upgrading, it just takes time and patience. I got most of mine one at a time, but I did get one rolling for three when it was on sale. Don't spin again, just reload.
