Error Code 1001

Last night, I had just finished my 4th grand arena battle. Rather than going to the home screen during my cool down, I just left the Grand Arena screen open (where you can choose from 3 opponents). After 7 or 8 minutes, the cool down was over and the yellow Battle button became active. I chose an opponent and clicked Battle. I chose my characters, and clicked Battle. It attempted to load, but bounced back and gave an Error Code 1001. When I tried to run the same Battle, it wouldn't let me, saying I had already used all 5 battles for the day. I wonder if the error code was because I stayed in Grand Arena and waited during the cool down, as opposed to going to another screen and coming back after the cool down period had already passed?
