"Not now" not working on gift notification

I keep getting notifications for gifts that aren't actually there, and when I tap "Not now," nothing happens, so I'm stuck in an endless cycle of "Somebody sent you a gift!" but no new gifts, and I'm about ready to throw my phone at the wall. The notifications have been happening for a while, but this "not now" thing has just been since the update today.
