I honestly can't afford to buy them, so could anyone tell me how I can get stars other than by leveling up???

You can try the free star options, but honestly... This is how the people who make this game earn their money, so I can understand why they don't give you stars for everything. Look out for good offers on stars and energy the last hour of filming too. Some of those are not expensive at all.

You can also get them through good ratings from filming and dating.

There is an option to get free stars where you buy them. Watch the video and you'll receive the star
