If you just newly started the game, you have to wait to go down to the neighborhood starbeans for a job, from there the manager at starbeans will ask you what your name is. Then you will type it

When Warren asks what your name is, as part of Making Ends Meet, that is your opportunity to name your character. If you have gone past that part then your character will remain nameless. The only thing you could do is restart if it bugs you that much and if you are not that far into it
