Every player comes across this option in CVC or Target Bash. There are few freebies available then you choose to get power/hit by spending Gold. My advise is to stay away from options of 40/50 gold. If you are to spend, stick with 30 Gold you score way more than by spending  40/50 Gold. In my experience you get below par score when you take 40/50  Gold options.
