It's been a good minute since I made a thread that clearly shows I have too much time on my hands. Whatever, let's get to it!
On Tuesday, I spent a decent amount of time trying to decide if I should level either Mookie or Posada(who I didn't even have). I've moved my focus towards CvC and I really like their skills and versatility(both are switch hitters). Ultimately, I decided against it in part because I didn't want to buy FP.
Fast forward to the next day and there's a 520 legend of some dude who isn't exactly a household name. Surely, that was an error, right? Nah, it's GLU! They never make mistakes...There was also a 500 max legend of a dude I clearly had never heard of. Hmm...
About 30 minutes later, I see that the keepers are boosted. 495(for the top keepers)! Whoa! That kind of came out of nowhere. I guess 520's are the new standard. What does all this mean? I don't have answers, but you better believe that I'll have guesses! Also, that huge sigh of relief? That's just me, in a corner, realizing that I dodged a bullet(by not leveling Mookie/chasing Posada).
-the 520's have a 'hit' of 159 at b1. For those keeping score, that's the same number for keepers Babe Ruth and Mantle. Among players released in '18, only JT's 161 is higher. In short, even after the keepers hit their max of 550, they will still be inferior to the legends of the present because of skills and cost to level skills. Adjust accordingly.
-520's and we still have five plus months to go? 600 max players seem like a lock at this stage and also....
-Keepers will top out at 550, but I don't recall such a cap on ML(my legend). I still don't believe that they're a good value, but a 600 max ML and nothing to use bxp on? I don't think it's nuts anymore. Still crazy, just not nuts.
-WoH! Is it going to get tougher? I want to say it's a lock, but I've said that after every boost and each time, I've been reminded that I'm not very good at guessing Glu's next move. This has been the biggest jump to date(30 points), but GLU seems very reluctant to adjust things. I really wonder how the community will react if we start to see level 3+ pitchers in HoF....
-Speaking of which, I'll do my part in spreading the fire. Rumor has it that boxes will make it's return to Royale 'soon.' All I gotta say is, it's about damn time!
-Mega lxp boxes are here....I'm not crazy excited about the value(5.06 per gold), but I guess it's something. Combined with FR, it's solid if it means you'll be able to level/cap a player. I'm a tad pessimistic on this one as it suggests that premium boxes won't be making it's debut anytime soon. In any event, I hope they're around when I actually need them.
I'm glad things are starting to pick up. It was nice to be excited about boxes(I chase and caught Mathews) and change is refreshing in a game that's been rather stale most of the year. Here's hoping that I get at least one thing correct. Anyone else have anything to add or speculate on? Anything y'all excited about? Or just want to add to their post count? Let's hear it, err, see it.
If you're not having fun, you're losing.

Edit: Sorry, misread it. Who was the 500 guy you never heard of
I’m guessing Jerry Ruess. Decent pitcher with a long career but not a “legend” by any means lol
Personally, my interest was waning until this past week. The update(via apk pure) did wonders for my gaming experience and the jump to 520's, along with new skills, was a sight for sore eyes. I just hope that weeks from now, we won't still be talking about game being stale.
My experience aside, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the update was a major fail. Most people are only aware of google play and for many android users, it was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. A damn shame too.
