We might have a whale. Not naming names, but one guy in this thread is a borderline top 10 player in the world. Which is fine! People can spend their money in whatever way they see fit. I like to think this board has players at all levels of the game. That’s why the conversation is interesting. I enjoy the community more…
That's the thing. There is no real reason to chase anyone anymore, other than bonus points and vanity of course. My son has a silver team that he never really uses. It's actually more fun trying to cycle with his mid-level primes and a few low end legends, just for a little challenge.
A 500 pitcher will be successful for the rest of the TSB season. Not elite of course, but I bet he will be on my roster for at least a couple months. I rarely invest in pitchers. Resource conservation is the only thing that saves me money.
What year was it that they released Ted Williams on Christmas Day? My first ever cycle cap. Did ten cycles that day to take him from Diamond 1 to 10. It wasn’t hard either, I did the cycles without interfering with any holiday stuff. Not proud of it, but I did love that Teddy.
It really is brutal. I did it two weeks ago, such a grind. I saved up the 25 reward boxes in the hope of a free level up or two, figured that would at least make it somewhat worthwhile. Somehow went 0-25, naturally.
He’d be the only guy I would consider, just because I usually don’t waste pxp on a reliever. But I’m not going to bet on the Astros being the second team ever to come back from being down 3-0.
Butler is only like the 3rd 510 released, right? It’s incredibly early for a guy with his dominant skills at the top of the curve. I think it’s a rare exception to the rule, not a sign of an impending bump. I just can’t see another bump one week after 510s came out. But who knows.
Over the weekend, I pulled Kaline on my second box, and then pulled Damon from a free 250g box. So, I absolutely KNEW I would not get Butler or the Shoe Dentist, and lo and behold, I was correct. I think you just have to accept this, Doc. Enjoy the good pulls and realize everything in between is just biding time until the…
I can’t really disagree with any of that. Problem remains that the big spenders continue to...well, be big spenders. I have said since sets became a thing that they would ruin the game, or at least make the playing field so uneven as to ruin the fun for the average player. There was a time in this game when pulling one…
Ok, “trojanman,” you win. Lol. Sorry I responded to your post, it bubbled up as new and I didn’t realize it was an old whiny post rather than a new one.
Not really "going" anywhere with this. It just feels like this board is a constant whine and cheese "party." It makes sense to wait for the 500 players you like, but voicing it as part of a complaint (the clear tenor of your OP) is senseless to me. Of course better players are going to come out over time. It would make no…
Well, ok, but Glu's rollout strategy is hardly news. 480s with good skills come out, followed by 500s with weaker skills, followed by 500s with better skills, followed by 510s, etc. It is how the game has pretty much always run.
Agreed, but also, we have to accept that bad RNG happens. I cycled 25x this weekend without any issue, and then once today without any trouble. But on my second cycle today, all of a sudden my righty bats went to lunch and I couldn't cycle for the life of me. You'll get through eventually, either with patience or gold.…
I am not defending Glu, but your standards must be absurdly high in terms of 500 players with good skills. Giambi was Late Innings/ROB, Hunter had double LHP (WOH assassin, if you need one), Nettles was RHP and Close (crushes most WOH righties, especially in Royale), Kiner was Fire and ROB, Damon was RHP and Fire, Bando…
I hate to be “that guy” but I pulled Kaline on my second box. This was after I chased Reggie hard and came up empty, and pulled zilch this week despite spending another healthy chunk of gold. It truly does go in waves. Doesn’t make it feel any better when you’re cold, though. The absolute worst is when you commit to…
I’m going “hunting” tomorrow but the reality is I don’t play enough anymore to accumulate gloves. It took me three weeks to accumulate the gloves needed to cover the “buy in” for my hunting party. Also I don’t leave my club that often, other than to find a .3 on weekends.
I’ve said it before, sets are the worst thing that ever happened to the game. Game went from affordable to brutally expensive with that one change and the accompanying proliferation of bonus players. I used to get excited with one good pull. Now you need at least 5 to compete.
