Why is there no way to drop a franchise player when they have X amount of games still available. It seems there should be the ability to drop a player and add another without blowing 4000 in gold to add yet another slot.

You have to put somebody with a lower rating than the franchise player into that position. The FP will then be inserted into the lineup.

Throwing in a low end player on your bench will also work if you want to get rid of your FC player.

Just waste a couple of thousand on draft picks till you get the position you need don’t build up the player and insert him into your lineup
