I've scaled my time on this game back significantly. Have both my teams in one "solo" club and am at Platinum 5 so far, only playing enough games to hit daily and club bonus.
Spend gold to hit fan rewards and still pulling my share of the "top" players, who I level to platinum 10 as long as they are an upgrade for their position. Don't chase sets, but still finishing Top 50 in almost every club event and winning most CVC matchups with a single autoplay per team because the clubs I'm playing against don't even post.
It's actually almost fun at this point, I expect it to change dramatically when Primes come out and my pace of play will not support the roster requriements.
Maybe all the engagement is in Champions, but the game is very quiet for the casual player.
